Miranda Lambert showed off a new platinum-blonde 'do on her Instagram with the caption "Somethin' 'bout PLATINUM!" She's referencing her latest album,Platinum, and stylist Amanda Craig of Studio Gaven in Nashville shared with us how she lightened up Lambert's color with Redken.
GET THE COLOR
Miranda is a natural 6/7 base.
STEP 1: Start back to front. Apply Redken Chromatics 8AG and Chromatic 9AB and equal parts 30 volume for the base. Leave on for 5 minutes. Using 8AG and 9AB bumps the base without any red.
STEP 2: Apply Redken Argan-6 Hair Oil for Dry Hair to ends for protection and shampoo hair while holding the ends. After, use the base to cover baby hair around the face. Leave on for 5 minutes, shampoo, and rough dry hair.
STEP 3: Apply Redken Up to 7 and 20 vol to create a few highlights on the root. Balayage Up to 7 and 10 vol between foils for pops of color. You can also balayage Chromatics 9NGB 10 vol to add depth and make the blonde pop. Let process 20-30 minutes and check on it every 10 minutes.
STEP 4: After processing, shampoo using Redken Diamond Oil Shampoo and Conditioner to strengthen hair and boost shine and smoothness.
STEP 5: Before blowdrying, spray Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer as a heat protectant and to cut down on dry time. Then add Redken Velvet Gelatine 07 Cushioning Blow Dry Gel to create a silky blowout with added volume.
STEP 6: To style with texture (not as pictured), finish with Outshine 01 Anti-Frizz Polishing Milk and a touch of Fashion Waves 07 Sea Salt Spray.
