STMNT Grooming Expands into Shave Care
STMNT Grooming Goods is expanding into the shave care category with three new additions to its lineup.
Get the HOW TO create this perfectly "Stitched" updo from Graziella Lembo of Salon Capri, Boston.

Hair Stitching is a surprising quick and easy technique that has been mastered by Boston’s hair stitching specialist Graziella Lembo at SalonCapri.
"The hair stitching technique is used to achieve a romantic textured up do that doesn’t look to ‘done up’," Lembo says. "It is a great alternative to bobby pins as it stays up all night long, so it’s perfect for weddings or all day events."
GET THE LOOK:
1. Hair stitching works best on hair with a bit of texture, Lembo recommends washing hair the day before styling, or if you are working with squeaky clean strands, she advises using a dry shampoo such as Kerastase Powder Bluff to add “next day hair” texture before styling. It keeps hair looking freshly washed and leaves no powder residue.
2. Apply a heat protectant such as Kerastase Fibre Architect with fingers before and after curling hair for extra shine and protection.
3. Next, curl hair in medium sized sections using a 1 to 1 ½ inch curling iron. Curl the entire head - Lembo advises working to achieve “natural, not structured curls” by gently pulling and loosening cooled curls.
4. For added volume and hold, add a light spritz of Kerastase Laque Couture, lifting up curls to get product near the roots as well.
5. Making sure there’s no distinct part, grasp a handful of hair above the occipital bone, leaving another handful loose near the nape of your neck.
6. Thread a hair stitching needle (a large plastic, blunt needle from any craft store will work) with linen thread—use a thread that is the color of your hair or gold/silver if you want added sparkle.
7. Begin sewing hair through the messy bun you have created. Sew in looping motions pulling each stitch tight as you go to secure strands.
8. Lembo emphasizes that the look should be voluminous and messy but feel secure. It will hold all night. The larger the loop, the more volume you get, the tighter the loop, the more “detailed” it will appear.
9. Add bobby-pins where desired to secure small pieces that get away. Finish with a second coat of Kerastase Laque Couture (you don’t need as much hairspray as most updos, the look is so secure!)
10. To take out, find a loop of string to carefully snip.
