This look features a multitude of colors using Matrix Color Sync Vinyls—Midnight Violet, Cobalt Blue and Crimson Red. Created by Constance Robbins, a professional hairdresser based out of Los Angeles, Robbins specializes in dimensional hair color, cutting and styling with a focus on long hair.
Also a Matrix Artist, she works on US and Global projects alongside prestigious international artists on photo shoots, hair shows and video production.
Here, Robbins offers the formulas and step-by-step process she took to put together this look.

FORMULA A: 1:1 Color Sync 3N & 10 Volume MATRIX Cream Developer & BOND Ultim8 Step 1
FORMULA B: 1:1 Color Sync Vinyls Midnight Violet & 10 Volume MATRIX Cream Developer & BOND Ultim8 Step 1
FORMULA C: 1:1 Color Sync Vinyls Cobalt Blue & 10 Volume MATRIX Cream Developer & BOND Ultim8 Step 1
FORMULA D: 1:1 Color Sync Vinyls Crimson Red & 10 Volume MATRIX Cream Developer & BOND Ultim8 Step 1
SECTIONING:
Create a center parting from the front hairline to the nape. Next, take a parting across the top of the head extending from top of the ear to top of the other ear, secure sections for control.
LIGHTENING:
Starting in the nape, take a diagonal slice apply the LIGHTENER FORMULA using a freehand technique to the mid-lengths and ends feathering up toward the scalp but staying a few inches away. Repeat until all sections complete.
PROCESS UNTIL DESIRED LIGHTNESS IS ACHIEVED OR UP TO 50 MINUTES. RINSE THOROUGHLY AND TOWEL DRY.
COLOR MELT:
First, apply FORMULA A to the new growth to create deeper base. Next, working down the hair strand melt your formulas into one another in the following order: FORMULA B into C into D. Using the Kabuki Brush to blur the formulas together for a seamless transition. Repeat this application method visually alternating the formulas until all sections complete.
PROCESS UP TO 20 MINUTES AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.
Rinse thoroughly, apply BOND Ultim8 Step 2 for 10 minutes then rinse. Cleanse and condition using Total Results Color Obsessed Shampoo and Conditioner. Send your client home with a BOND Ultim8 Step 3 weekly for additional nourishment at home.
