With the 2014 Academy Awards just a few days away, the beauty community is abuzz with predictions for stars' styles on the big night. Pureology Pureartist Sandra Joseph shares her favorite Oscars looks through the years with MODERN and advises on how she'd recreate them.
JANET GAYNOR, 1929: Soft finger waves on the first Academy Award-winning actress

STEP 1: Blend a combination of Pureology Nourishing Nectar sculpting gel with Pureology Gold Definer contour shine-gel and apply from roots to ends.
STEP 2: Create finger waves by using a comb and fingers, pushing hair form left to right.
STEP 3: Dry hair under a hood dryer and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
STEP 4: Brush hair with a soft bristle brush to soften set.
STEP 5: Finish with a small amount of Pureology Cuticle Polisher shine serum for added shine.
VIVIEN LEIGH, 1939 (Gone with the Wind): Glamorous half-up, half-down style

STEP 1: Apply Pureology Nourishing Nectar sculpting gel on damp hair. Work from roots to ends for shape and shine.
STEP 2: Taking 1-inch sections, roll hair into pin curls and secure with prong clips.
STEP 3: After hair has dried, remove clips and brush hair with a soft bristle brush. Apply a small amount of Pureology Anti-Breakage Twist shine-texturizer for added hold and control.
STEP 4: Create a center part and roll sides back. Secure with pins.
STEP 5: finish with Pureology Supreme Control maximum hold zero dulling hairspray.
SOPHIA LOREN, 1962 (Two Women): '60s full bob

STEP 1: Throughout damp hair, apply Pureology Lustrous Volumizer bodifying glaze for high hold and heat protection.
STEP 2: Taking small sections, blow dry with a medium round brush to create volume.
STEP 3: Slice 1-inch sections and back-comb while misting Pureology Strengthening Control zero dulling hairspray for support and shine.
STEP 4: Create a left side part and smooth hair with a soft bristle brush.
STEP 5: Finish with Pureology Supreme Control maximum hold zero dulling hairspray for a long-lasting finish.
CHER, 1988 (Moonstruck): Big, '80s curls

STEP 1: Layer Pureology Colour Fanatic multi-tasking hair beautifier along with Pureology Illuminating Curl shaping 24-hour lotion throughout damp hair to enhance curl and control frizz.
STEP 2: Dry hair with a diffuser on medium heat to define natural curls.
STEP 3: Pull hair up in sections to the top of the head and secure with pins.
STEP 4: With a small iron, curl random strands of hair while misting Pureology Strengthening Control zero dulling hairpsray.
STEP 5: Allow pieces of hair to drop and finish with Pureology Supreme Control maximum hold zero dulling hairspray for all-night hold.
JULIA ROBERTS, 2001 (Erin Brockovich): Sophisticated updo

STEP 1: On dry hair, layer Pureology Root Lift spray hair mousse from roots to ends. Blow dry with a large flat brush to create body and shine.
STEP 2: Create a left side part and gather all the hair from the top and sides into a high ponytail. Create a low pony with the remainder of the hair.
STEP 3: Back-comb the high pony and smooth over the back of the head. Pin ends to lower pony and leave a few inches out to use later. Mist with Pureology Strengthening Control zero dulling hairspray for light hold.
STEP 4: Back-comb lower pony and roll hair under, then pin to create a chignon.
STEP 5: Wrap remainder of the ends from the first pony around the base of the second pony to hide elastic and finish the look.
STEP 6: Add a mist of Pureology Supreme Control maximum hold zero dulling hairspray for shine and hold.
ANNE HATHAWAY, 2013 (Les Miserables): Pixie cut
