Joelle Landoff (@mermyjo), an assistant at Champions Salon, Lake Forest, California, has created a beautiful white to gray ombre design for model, Zoe. MODERN received so much love on instagram that we decided to track her down. Here, she offers the HOW TO:

Step 1: Apply Joico Verolight powder lightener on roots in 1/2 inch sections and process until the hair is pale yellow. "The timing is always different but stays on usually about 35 to 45 minutes depending on the natural level."
Step 2: Shampoo with purple shampoo, towel dry and apply V9 Vero KPAK Chrome toner. Process for 5 to 10 minutes or until you can see the hair has turned white. Rinse and condition.
Step 3: Dry completely then apply Joico Titanium Color Intensity using a balayage technique. Process for 30 to 45 minutes depending on how dark you would like the color.
Step 4: Shampoo and condition the hair using cold to medium temperature water. Dry and style.
