Willow Shields definitely isn't being outshone by her fictional big sister's (Jennifer Lawrence) shadow. The 14-year-old actress, who plays Primrose Everdeen in the Hunger Games series, had a youthful, romantic style all her own for the Mockingjay Part 1 premiere in Los Angeles.
The custom green Christian Siriano dress was paired with glamorous waves by celebrity stylist Ryan Richman.
“It was such a glamorous dress that I wanted to offset it with a more natural feel to keep her look youthful,” Richman says. He shares that they cut off about four inches of Shields' hair at the last minute and then styled her Hollywood waves with KMS California.
GET THE LOOK: YOUTHFUL, GLAMOROUS WAVES
STEP 1: Start with towel-dried hair. Apply a few pumps of KMS California TAMEFRIZZ de-frizz oil; it's a lightweight leave-in that detangles and prevents frizz.
STEP 2: Before blow-drying each section, spray KMS California ADDVOLUME volumizing spray at the root for fullness and protection against heat styling.
STEP 3: Blow dry 1-inch sections using a large, boar-bristle brush and set with clips to maintain volume.
STEP 4: Set a deep side-part and curl 1-inch sections with a large-barrel curling iron. For Shields' soft, uniform wave, wrap and twist hair around the iron.
STEP 5: To set hair, apply KMS California HAIRSTAY medium hold spray to a brush and brush the curl into a soft wave. Finish with an additional spritz of KMS HAIRSTAY.
