Jessica Renich (@splitendslayer) of Carlton Hair (@carltonhair) created this gorgeous and fun color design. By reversing the color placement and adding colored extensions, Renich went from wow to WOW! Here, she offers the how to:
Before:client arrived with Manic Panic and Pravana from dark green to neon yellow.
STEP 1: Lighten the root with Goldwell Oxyplatin 15 volume working up to 20 volume.
STEP 2: Process for 20 minutes.
STEP 3: Pull through to the midshaft with 10 volume using Goldwell Silk Lift. ("Leave some of the previous green at the ends since she wanted to have neon yellow-green ends," says Renich.)
STEP 4: Process for 10 minutes, lifting to match the root as much as possible at a level 9-10. Shampoo from the hair.
STEP 5: Tone root and midshaft with Goldwell Colorance 10V and 10P with blue developer.
STEP 6: Process for 10 minutes and then rinse from the hair.
STEP 7: "After lightening we ended up loving the blonde into the neon yellow so decided to play it up," adds Renich. Roughly dry the hair before ombre/highlighting the ends with about five different colors:
Pravana Neon Green, Neon Yellow, and their Neon Blue. Apply by weaving pieces like a highlight, but fading the neon yellow into different varieties of the green and blue mixtures. On her extensions, place more blue than green towards the ends for more variety.
Step 8: Process for 30 minutes and then rinse from the hair with cool water.
