February is American Heart Month, and to support women's cardiac health, Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week held a Red Dress Show featuring celebrities wearing their favorite designer's red styles.
Stylist Jenny Balding created a variety of hair looks for the show and gave some insight on the difference between styling for this show and for more typical, model-filled NYFW shows.
"At the Red Dress Show, you're working with celebrities with a well-established image within the industry, so for the hair, we made them feel as beautiful as possible and runway-ready," Balding says. "My team and I consulted with each celebrity on her red dress so we could create a hairstyle that complimented both her red dress and individual style."
Some of the celebrities in the show included Ireland Baldwin, Joan Jett, Nene Leaks and Kat Graham.
"For Ireland Baldwin, I created a look that was sleek, elegant, sexy and off the face," Balding says. "This worked perfectly with her Donna Karan gown."
"Joan Jett is Joan Jett, so I just enhanced her rock-'n'-roll-ness!" Balding says.
