Actress Keri Russell arrived at the New York City screening of her latest film, Austenland in a sleek, black jump suit with a mane of glossy waves. Celebrity stylist Brian Magallones of Exclusive Artists Management used his favorite styling products from René Furterer to give Russell a look described as “Lauren Bacall with an edgy glamour.”

Magallones says, “Keri is such a cool and easy-going Brooklyn girl, I always want to keep her hair looking beautiful without looking too fussy.” Here is how he achieved her classic look that strikes the right balance between retro and now.

GET THE LOOK

Start with clean, dry hair. Take two-inch wide sections and wrap each around the barrel of a 1 1/4 inch curling iron.

Use a flat iron to straighten sections along the bottom three inches of hair for a modern, edgy look.

Rub René Furterer Modeling paste between fingers and apply around hairline to smooth out fly-away strands.

Mist hair with René Furterer Vegetal Finishing Spray to hold hair in place while maintaining movement and securing a natural, satiny finish.
