Frances Gonzalez (@frances_hairartist), owner of Modern Beige Salon in Brea, CA, and a Kenra Artistic Creator, delivered her client's request of low-maintenance color with some careful product placement and the right application techniques.  She melted the root and the color isn't too far from her natural tones, so the look is natural and lived-in.

PRO TIPS FOR LOW-MAINTENANCE BLONDE

In addition to the steps outlined in the video, and the formula, Gonzalez offers these tips for creating a similar result:

1.) "With darker levels, aim to shift no more than 1-2 levels lighter with the base breaker formula."

2.) "I find it best to base break on wet or damp hair; it helps control against hot roots."
