Haley Garber has mastered braiding and loves the technique so much that she has given up her other hairdressing skills (like color!) Check out her @BeautyByHaleyGarber on Instagram and you will see the breadth of her talent with posts chock full of braided flowers, big fat twists and beautiful finishes fit for any bride, special occasion or festival.

MODERN was working with Garber recently at a photoshoot where she prepped multiple braids to be placed in the finished upstyle. "I've learned that I really can't do these beforehand," Garber says. "Some of these braids - and especially the flowers - are so delicate that they crush or unravel when packed for travel. When I prepare them on-site, they hold up better. For a bride, I create them as close to the wedding as possible to withstand a lot of dancing!"

Garber says proper prep is key, layering a variety of Alfaparf products to help design and hold the perfect braid.

In this video, Garber demos how-to create one of her favorite braids - the four strand. As a bonus, stay tuned to get the rose gold formula from Alfaparf educator Lindsay Lane who shares why she loves the new Alfaparf Leonardo collection.
