It was all about a “frozen Goddess” for the Jonathan Simkhai F/W 2016 Collection, created by Thomas Osborn, for CATWALK by TIGI. The look, presented earlier today during NYFW at MILK Studios, explored the soft balance achieved between intricate linear laces and delicate, streamlined construction. Simkhai’s girl is polished but not prim, a gypsy Goddess forging through the Arctic.

“This look was inspired by the idea of a natural, windswept feel," says Osborn. "We wanted to keep the front of the hair soft with some 'frozen' pieces and have a Nordic knot down the back. The look is strong, yet not fussy."

Here Osborn shares the HOW TO:

  • Prep dry hair with CATWALK by TIGI Bodifying Spray and blow dry with fingers in a backwards and upwards motion

  • Next, using a flat iron, pull small sections of hair backwards at the crown for a “frozen” illusion

  • Then, rake hair backwards and create a knot at the nape of the neck, secure with an elastic. Create a second knot and secure with a clear elastic

  • Finish with CATWALK by TIGI Work It Hairspray and Camera Ready Shine Spray
