Darnell Wold's (@HairHeGoes) vibrant color work has fueled his career and his carefully crafted wigs are in high demand. This fiery red is softened by painting on Pravana pastels. Here's how he did it:
PREP:
Originally a Level 6, hair was lightened to palest blonde using Pravana pure light power lightener w. 30 volume developer. Hair was divided into four sections.
FORMULA:
Pravana Chromasilk Vivids RED (1/2 tube) and Pravana Chromasilk Vivids MAGENTA (1/2 tube) were mixed together and applied to the first 4" of the roots.
Follow with:
Pravana Chromasilk Pastels TOO CUTE CORAL
Pravana Chromasilk Pastels PRETTY IN PINK
Pravana Chromasilk Vivids ORANGE
The color was applied in a gradient technique alone with balyage highlights with the pastels while also leaving behind some of those blonde highlights closer to the ends of the hair.
