With Americans’ top financial resolutions for 2023 being “to save more money” and “to fight back against inflation,” the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2023’s Best & Worst Cities for Keeping Your New Year's Resolutions, as well as expert commentary. This new report complements WalletHub’s list of the top New Year’s Financial Resolutions for 2023 and corresponding consumer survey.

To help Americans stick to their 2023 goals, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities across 57 key metrics. The data set ranges from exercise opportunities to income growth to employment outlook.

Irvine, California, has the lowest share of obese adults, 19.00 percent, which is 2.6 times lower than in Montgomery, Alabama, the city with the highest at 48.80 percent.

South Burlington, Vermont, has the lowestunemployment rate, 1.50 percent, which is 5.3 times lower than in Detroit, the city with the highest at 7.90 percent.

Fremont, California, has the lowest share of delinquent debtors, 1.66 percent, which is 7.8 times lower than in Jackson, Mississippi, the city with the highest at 12.98 percent.

Jackson, Mississippi, has the lowestprevalence of adult binge drinking, 11.10 percent, which is 2.2 times lower than in Madison, Wisconsin, the city with the highest at 23.90 percent.

Fremont, California, has the lowestshare of adult smokers, 7.90 percent, which is 3.7 times lower than in Cleveland, the city with the highest at 29.10 percent.
