In honor of MODERN SALON’s 100th year, our talented friends at SalonTREND in Vestal, NY took on the monthly project of creating a look to represent each decade beginning with the 1920s, the decade that MODERN was born as Modern Beauty Shop magazine. Their creations have so far been nothing short of stunning, bringing classic styles to the forefront of our Instagram feeds.
Headed by TREND brand owner Sherette Fabi-Parker (@sherette.salontrendnewyork), the SalonTREND team includes Cole Teed (@coleteed.salontrend) and Carlie Huffman (@carlie.salontrend). This power trio has their hands in all aspects of the professional hair industry, leading everything from runway styling teams at New York Fashion Week and Miami Swim Week to brand education for TRUSS Professional.
For February’s 1930s look, the team styled their model with the soft curls reminiscent of the era, evoking early Hollywood starlets and the glamour that they embodied. See the breakdown for how Team TREND achieved this gorgeous look.
We first prepped the hair with TRUSS Professional Fluid Fix and Amino spray.
After prepping the hair, we did a roller set throughout all of the hair.
After the rollers cooled, we took them out to backcomb and tousle the curls.
We used TRUSS Volumizing Powder to add extra texture and lift to the look.
Finally, we pinned the hair under to create the look of a bob.
