NAHA 2010 Finalists Announced!
The Professional Beauty Association, organizers of the North American Hairstyling Awards, has announced this year’s finalists for the prestigious, photo-based NAHA competition. Vying for the title of North American Hairstylist of the Year are Steve Elias, Shirley Gordon, Shawna Parvin, Tony Ricci and Atoine Vadacchino. Finalists in nine other NAHA categories were also announced, with Makeup and Salon MBA categories still to come.
Irvine and Louise Rusk Launch Ilka
After years away from the industry, beauty veterans Irvine and Louise Rusk have launched a new line. Ilka, which features plant ingredients from Scotland, is divided into three functional groups: Color Treated, Fine-Limp and Coarse-Thick. There is a regimen of three products for each three hair types: shampoo, conditioner and foundation/styling prep. A strong follow-up plan of styling, finishing and specialty items will be launched in summer 2010.
