The winners of the CEW Beauty Insiders Choice Awards were announced at a press luncheon this afternoon and the professional industry had a winner. While there were just a few salon entries named as finalists in a couple of categories, the Tricology Hair Recovery Patch by American Crew won in the category of "Men's Grooming".

This award is actually quite a big deal.  More than 550 products, representing 300 beauty brands were entered in 31 categories.  The "judges" are the 3600 members of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW), beauty industry experts and professionals who test out the products over several months before casting their votes. Ernst and Young tabulate the secret ballots….so it's legit!

Other professional brands that made the finals and were recognized at the luncheon were:
Aveda: Sun Care Protective Hair Veil
Bumble and bumble: Bb Gel
Clairol Professional: Premium Crème Demi Permanente
DevaCurl: MirrorCurls
Moroccanoil: Glimmer Shine Spray
Sebastian Professional: Microweb Fiber
Zotos International: Diamond Shine Shine Boost Rinse-Out Glaze

In addition, Moroccanoil and Oribe Hair Care were acknowledged in the "Indie Beauty Award" category for their innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in a small independent beauty company.

The American Crew Tricology Hair Recovery Patch was up against products by Avon, Gillette, Lab Series Skincare for Men and Nivea for Men. The victory acknowledges the product and packaging, so HUGE CONGRATS to American Crew and all the other professional products!
