Farouk Systems Inc. announces that CEO Basim Shami was recently recognized by the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) for his awareness and advocacy in taking a stand against discrimination. Shami received special recognition in August at the TAMACC Latina Empowerment Luncheon which occurred at their 40th Annual Convention and Business Expo held in Austin, Texas. TAMACC is an association of the local Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and acts in their mission as a leading advocate for over 500,000 Hispanic businesses in Texas, protecting public affairs and public policy.
TAMACC and its members recognized Shami and Houston-based Farouk Systems, the makers of CHI and BioSilk, for supporting the advocacy of all multicultural groups and promoting equal opportunities in their company’s philosophies and business practices.
