Some of the highlights that make the ITVA so spectacular include a mesmerizing Parade of Nations. Models and competitors take the stage with their flags and proudly display the finish look with head to toe fashion and beauty (including nails!). For a full look LIVE from the competition show floor, click here.
Each year, seasonal trends are debuted to be reimagined by competitors the following year. The two trends that debuted for 2017 are “Optical Illusion” for Spring/Summer, which is all about contouring and celebrates the brave and bold individuality of today’s client; real, ultra-real and surreal. Color turns into shape, form is an illusion of the eye; and “Past Forward” for fall/winter featuring neutral tones with a color wash designed to mute and soften the shade. Not over-groomed perfection. A soft simplicity that creates the perfect canvas for color and styling, celebrating the sensuality of imperfection.
These are the trends that competitors will reinterpret—first with a photo submission entry into their respective national competition, and then onto Internationals if they win.
Another highlight each year at ITVA is the reveal of next year’s host city. The crowd roared when it was announced that the 2017 competition will be held in London. Learn more about how the host city is chosen here.
