Sebastian Professional is accepting entries for the 2015 What’s Next Awards through February 1, 2015. This competition is ground zero for student and professional talent who dare to push their creativity to the limits.

Each year, Sebastian releases a hair collection to inspire contestants of the What’s Next Awards. This year, that collection is Totemic. It is far from traditional, but it’s grounded in tradition. The exaggerated shapes of masks and fabric are worked into new ways of weaving and roping. The lines are blurred between headdress and hair, between ceremonial beauty and a battle cry for artistry. Hair becomes decoration, armor and art – a symbol of identity and strength, and inspiration for contestants.

In Dubai, a salon visit isn’t an appointment. It’s a weekly routine, and clients can spend $800 to $1,400 a month on it, according to Gaurav Tripathi of MADI International. On October 6-8, 2026, the market behind those numbers opens its doors as Beautyworld Dubai marks its 30th edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together distributors, brands, stylists and salon owners from all over the world.
