ANNA CANTU
Farouk Systems is pleased to announce that Anna Cantu has been added to the Global Artistic Board. As a Farouk Systems platform artist, Anna continually sells out crowds at major hair shows across the country and has built a tremendous following throughout the United States and in Mexico. Anna’s hairdressing skills are now being recognized internationally as she has been appointed as one of the newest members of the Global Board. This is an exciting and monumental career achievement for Anna and reflects her remarkable talent within the field of hairdressing and among Farouk Systems artists.
The Global Artistic Board is comprised of many of the world’s elite hairdressers and the selection process spans 133 countries where Farouk Systems is represented. Each Global Board member is provided with the platform to create new trends and exhibit that they are a leader and educator in their field. The selection process for placement on the Global Artistic Board is based upon an arduous set of requirements -- artists begin the candidate process by submitting their resume, biography and complete portfolio in order to be invited for a live audition. The audition phase allows candidates to showcase their educational designs and artistic work that they have produced throughout their career at Farouk Systems. Each artist is selected for their expertise and their skills in five key areas including: stage presence, creativity, advanced education, brand specific product knowledge and their ability to effectively communicate and engage an audience.
CEO of Farouk Systems, Basim Shami, is truly excited about Anna’s accomplishments noting that, “Anna has excelled in all areas of hairdressing, and she does amazing work," Shami says. "She has built a tremendous following and sells out audiences wherever she goes. Anna has been extremely dedicated and loyal to Farouk Systems and we are excited for her to now join our Global Artistic Board so her talents now can be seen all over the world!”
Farouk Systems Vice President of Shows and Education, Lisa Marie Garcia, has always worked closely with Anna and is extremely proud; “I’ve watched her grow into a strong, confident stage artist. Her talent, passion and dedication to education are unmatched and I recommend if you are eager to learn, gain inspiration and have some fun, go see her show!”
Cantu has received many accolades since joining Farouk Systems, including: “2008 Top Educator of the Year,” “2010 Colorist of the Year,” and “2011 New Artist Team Award.” Cantu has also represented Farouk Systems at the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants and has served as an artist in the 2013 Farouk Systems World of Hairdressing. She has appeared on numerous national newscasts and televised award shows including the Latin Grammy Award and is a top draw at national hair shows and continues to sell out classes at Farouk Systems’ CHI Academy at the Houston, Texas headquarters.
