"The inspiration was a younger 'girl about town.' They wanted the girls to look modern, pretty and effortlessly undone," says Mannetti.
"Moths believe that the light is the moon. In their foolishness, they collide with the light's surface, illuminating their beauty even as they burn their fragile wings. My designs capture that glorious moment of illumination," says designer Jenny Peckham. "Like the lustrous moth, the wearer is drawn to the glare of the spotlight, and under the flash of cameras they shimmer and sparkle, radiating a luminous beauty for all to see."
