I recently received an interesting package in the mail that got all the editors' attention. It was a Vibe flatiron-which uses vibrating plate technology to realign damaged hair and close raised cuticles.
When I got the box, I called over all the editors so we could tear open the packaging. We rushed over to an outlet, plugged it into the wall, pushed the little power button and, the name doesn't lie, the plates really do vibrate when you close down on the hair. It was so fun to play with it!
I brought it home and have been using it all week to gauge my results-the pulsating plates really did make a difference in the overall appearance and shininess of my hair. Here's me giving my friend Mena a manicure in class-I had just used the Vibe and you can see how shiny it made my hair.

My family was over for dinner on Saturday-and my sister asked to borrow a flatiron because she left hers at a friend's house. I grabbed the Vibe and sent her off to the bathroom, without telling her what to expect.
All of a sudden, from the bathroom I heard, "Oh my god, Mom! Come here!"
I, of course, knew what all the fuss was about, so I grabbed my camera and look at the shot I got! This is my sister and my mom ooohing and ahhing over the flatiron. So funny!
The best part, in my opinion, about the vibrating plate technology is that because the plates pulse, it doesn't allow any of the hair to singe from having the hot plates on a spot for too long. Instead, the flatiron evenly heats its way down the hair shaft, without pulling or breaking, and eliminates friction.
The Vibe also has an option to turn off the pulse feature, so it can just be used as a standard flatiron with ceramic tourmaline plates. It's also lightweight and has a swivel power cord. Oh, and it's available in white, too!

Other features include a digital temperature display that can be viewed through the closed handle during use, almost as a window to view the temperature, along with an automatic safety shut-off after 30 minutes of non-use. A MUST-HAVE bonus for me! I can't tell you how many times I've gotten in the car and started driving to a only to turn around and head back home to make sure my flatiron is turned off.
