One of the most creative evenings on the hairdressing calendar took place Sunday evening in Los Angeles, the Wella Professionals North American Trend Vision Awards (NATVA). A chance for stylists and colorists to showcase their skills and realize their personal vision, this competition has three categories: Color Vision, Creative Vision, or Student. The winners in each were announced live onstage from the L.A. LIVE event space in downtown Los Angeles.

In addition to the thrill of cheering on the competitors and applauding the winners, Sunday evening also saw an inspiring line up of artistic presentations onstage, from some of the best hairdressing talent the industry has to offer, including: Akin Konizi and the HOB Creative Team; Industry Icon, Robert Lobetta; and The Sassoon Academy’s Creative Team, Mark Hayes, Traci Sakosits and Richie Rivera.
A collaborative effort between top artists Sonya Dove, Omar Antonio, Anthony Cole and Josh Wagner (who came together under the name Team M.A.N.N.) brought forth a stunning interpretation of the male esthetic--from the past, the present and into the future--drawing from fashion, music and, of course, beauty.
The talented winners of the North American Trend Vision Awards will receive:
Color Vision & Creative Vision Gold Winners will compete at the International Trend Vision Awards hosted in London this October.
Color Vision Gold Winner will create looks for a photoshoot to be published in an industry trade publication.
Creative Vision Gold Winner will work backstage at New York Fashion Week
Student Gold Winner will receive a professional kit, retail value $2,000
