There’s plenty to be aware of (and thankful for) this month. Salons are seeing guys sprout facial hair supporting “Movember” in honor of prostrate cancer awareness, and stylists are “talking a blue streak” to spread the word about Hope is in Style and Diabetes Awareness Month. And now Cosmetologists Chicago (CC), owners and producers of America’s Beauty Show (ABS), has declared November “Honor Your DSC” Month.
“We decided it would be a good idea to thank DSCs and SSCs (Distributor or Salon Sales Consultants) in November,” said CC President Joseph Cartagena, “because they are part of the salon’s support system and connect salons to the products and services that make us successful. Plus, we’re all so busy in December that we might forget to thank them!”

After you thank them, be sure to ask:
*What else can you do right now to boost your holiday biz—and get return visits early in the new year? *What special product offers do they have? What are some best sellers that are still in stock? *Do they have any tips for jazzing up your holiday merchandising and making it more effective? *Can they come back at the beginning of the year and help you plan your trade show strategy, including giving you a heads-up on any special “show only” offers they will be offering? What shows will he or she attend?
