NCA Launches Service Initiative

The NCA has announced

President Barack Obama issued a "call to service" in honor of Martin Luther King Day. That day has passed, but Dr. King's words, "Everyone can be great because anyone can serve," are true any day of the year. With that in mind, the National Cosmetology Association has announced its Dining for a Change program. The concept is simple: The association is asking salon professionals (or future professionals, manufacturers, distributors, co-workers, teachers, etc) to invite fellow professionals for  dinner, pizza, pot luck, or other social gathering to network and make a contribtion to NCA's three industry-connected charities: Look Good...Feel Better, which  supports cancer patients in association with the Amercian Cancer Society,  Cut it Out, which assists victims of domestic abuse and the NCA Diaster Relief Fund helping survivors of natural disasters.
NCA suggests an average contribution of $25, but stresses that any amount is welcome. The ultimate goal is for 1,000 professionals to host an average of 10 colleagues netting a total charitable donation of $250,000.
