Last night, as I was watching American Idol with the boyfriend, painting my nails with my favorite Eiffel for This Color from OPI’s French Collection, the boyfriend looked over at me and asked, “Do normal people paint their nails everyday?”

I looked at him like, "umm… what the heck is that supposed to mean?"
He looked back and said, "Well, you know, you paint your nails almost every single night. Is that normal? Do most people do that?"
I thought about it for a minute, and no, I don't think normal people paint their fingernails everyday. But, that's what's so fantastic about this industry. First of all, you don't need to be normal (which is the best part). You can have crazy hair with funky colors and extensions, edgy make-up, each one of your fingernails could be painted a different color, whatever you like. This is an industry FULL of creativity and passion. The world (at least all the people in the world) is your canvas. PAINT IT A DIFFERENT COLOR … EVERYDAY!

Anyway, back to my nails, my all-time favorite nail polish remover is Essie's Purifying Nail Polish Remover from the Naturally Clean line. I got it about three weeks ago at America's Beauty Show and, believe me, this puppy works. It removes absolutely every single last little speck of polish, no matter how dark the color (and, I like ‘em dark). The only drawback is the knock-you-on-your-tush strong scent. Whew! Luckily, you won't need to keep the bottle open very long because one damp cotton-ball full of the stuff is plenty. So, if you can stand the strong smell, you HAVE to try it. You won't regret it.
What are your creative musts? How do you express your passion for the industry?
