Have you heard about OPEN CHAIR? It is this totally cool bi-monthly "gathering" designed for salon professionals to meet, greet and network. ScissorCandy, an organization designed for stylists, models and an intrigued audience craving innovation, offers this event to let stylists socialize, inspire and of course, party.
Several stylists showcase their artistry on models they meet the day of the event which takes place at a local bar or open space. 2 stylists cut simultaneously on stage to the enthused crowd. "It's an expressive event for a creative industry," says Joey Berardi, founder of both ScissorCandy and Open Chair (and a third generation hairdresser). "My father told me that this is something hairdressers used to do in the 70's and 80's and I've decided to revive it. It's a collaboration and melting pot designed to keep everyone inspired and to raise the bar for the industry."
