While most professional hairdressers learned fishtailing in Beauty School, Pita tweaks the technique slightly to make it more modern and perfect for the runway.
Spray hair with volumizing spray
(used here T3 Orlando Pita Elevate).Straighten hair in ½ inch sections (used here the
Fahrenheit450 Professional Styling Iron).Begin fishtail braid on one side of the head.
Stay close to the head, pulling in pieces
from the outside as you braid down the side.Before securing with an elastic, push up on the braid to create a looser/messier look.Braid until it is long enough to reach
the middle of the back of the head.
Begin the second braid on the
opposite side of the head.Pull the braids together at the middle of the
back of the head and tie with a piece of
thread that matches the haircolor.Cut the elastics out of the braids.
