Dieci Uomo, Salon For Men, is a multi-level space in Livingston, NJ. The salon offers men skin care, nail care, color and hair cutting services.

Dieci Uomo, Salon For Men, is all set to open tomorrow: 11/12/13 in Livingston, NJ. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified salon, the first in New Jersey, has earned points in the five categories of Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources and Indoor Environmental Quality.

But the Dieci Uomo commitment to the environment is only part of the story. The 4000 square foot salon has 18 stations and will eventually have a staff of 30. The three story space, owned by Paul and Marie Gaglioti, caters to all things "guy" and has a private club ambiance. In addition to barber chairs scattered among the traditional salon chairs, there is a shoe shine station, a "locker room", a bar, beer based pedicure baths, sinks created with recycled beer and vodka bottles and more than a dozen television sets mounted throughout the salon...all tuned to sports channels.
THE RETAIL EXPERIENCE:
The retail offerings are incredibly focused. Some of the best men's lines are available (Nioxin, Arrojo, NY Streets, Jack Black and Dieci). The Gaglioti's have even found the soon to be launched V76 by Vaughn which has everything from a complete liquid line to Barber's Powder, Hair and Face Mist and Energy Wash Shower Gel. For gifts and fun there are stainless steel wallets, sports books and hats. Dieci Uomo is offering memberships for unlimited cuts, hot shaves, shoe shines and more. "It's the perfect place for a gentleman to come and relax and enjoy that is just for him," says Paul.
These three videos offer great insight into Dieci Uomo...from the tour by team Gaglioti, to the LEED overview and finally to questions every salon owner should have the answers to when opening a second salon (retail, staff, getting the word out to the community and how to open a salon while busy working and running the other salon).
Dieci Uomo is, as a salon/spa goes, a perfect 10. How fitting since Dieci Uomo's translation from Italian is "Ten Man."
