Gustav Mendoza, in an homage to his father (who created the slanted side burn for the original STAR TREK television series), decided to re-create and modernize the shape for his Modern Salon Media shoot. For this session, Mendoza softened the slant and made it a bit more feminine.

"My father was a great wigmaster," says Mendoza. "He created the slant to try to distract from the the toupee William Shatner wore on the show. I always try to put a little something in my finishes to honor my father, and the gentle slanted sideburn here was perfect." (The "reveal" from this session will appear in July...it's worth the wait!)
