For 2 decades, event founder and organizer, Crystal Wright, has helped thousands of freelance artists embrace entrepreneurship through her portfolio building & marketing classes.

“Artists kept asking for more business education,” says Wright, “so I created the Summit.  We are preparing freelance artists to thrive as business professionals. They’re out there on their own and they need help.” Business, finance, marketing, writing and PR classes will help artists take advantage of opportunities, overcome obstacles, employ better negotiation skills and present themselves more professionally to potential clients. Some of the greatest challenges these artists face is managing business politics, booking consistent projects, and negotiating rates that reflect their worth. The PYP Business Development Summit was created to enhance the business knowledge of working beauty and fashion professionals and raise the bar for a new generation.”

Registration for the summit is now open. Classes, caucuses, discussion forums and networking mixers are offered from 9:00AM - 9:00PM daily. Class admission prices range from $29 -$119, and special rates are available for 1, 2 and 3-day passports. To learn more about the summit and the organizer, visit www.pypsummit.com.

In Dubai, Clients Visit the Salon Every Week. Here’s What That Market Can Teach You

In Dubai, a salon visit isn’t an appointment. It’s a weekly routine, and clients can spend $800 to $1,400 a month on it, according to Gaurav Tripathi of MADI International. On October 6-8, 2026, the market behind those numbers opens its doors as Beautyworld Dubai marks its 30th edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together distributors, brands, stylists and salon owners from all over the world.
