Stylists and make-up artists from the Washington, DC area are getting plenty of chances to strut their stuff, thanks to StylistPlay DC.

Stylists and make-up artists from the Washington, DC area are getting plenty of chances to strut their stuff, thanks to StylistPlay DC, organizer of a series of competitions held at various local clubs where the creativity, music and refreshments make for a great party-and a great fundraiser.
Anthony V of the StylistPlay DC team explains that for a registration fee of $75, entrants receive five complimentary tickets to the event and arrive with models 90 percent finished. Last minute touch-ups are done on site, and photographers are supplied to capture it all. Winners get their work published locally and nationally and it's a great opportunity to network and garner some salon publicity.
The most recent event, held at Current Lounge, was a benefit for the Susan K. Komen foundation and six salons took home honors in categories that included Best Hair Style, Best Color, Best Make-Up Artistry, Best Contemporary Look, People's Choice and Best Presentation.
The next event, Masquerade Bash, will be held October 25 at Current Lounge and event sponsor, Jet Blue Airways, will award a round trip ticket to the partygoer or contestant with the best costume.
