Farouk founder Farouk Shami is not one to stand idly by when it comes to being proactive about the environment—especially when it affects hairdressers.
“As a company of hairdressers for hairdressers, Farouk Systems took the lead with extensive research and development aided by the great scientists of NASA to develop the CHI brand of tools, including irons and hair dryers,” he says.
The research yielded ceramic, ionic, far infrared and nano silver Advanced American Technology: CHI dryers are half the weight and emit half the noise of regular dryers. They produce negative ions and cut down on drying time. Nano silver can kill up to 650 different kinds of bacteria.
In addition, Farouk Systems also eliminated ammonia from their hair color lines, BioSilk Color, BioGlitz Color and CHI Ionic Permanent Shine Color. And most recently, the company introduced a nano-silver, ionic, ceramic and silk nail polish line.
