It's only January, but already the cool education has begun. I am here in Orlando at RAC 08 (Redken Artists Connection) with 950 Redken and Pureology artists.  We are learning all the latest techniques, styles and formulations from some the hottest educating stars including Chris Baran, Chris Sorbie and Sam Villa. The entire seminar, including break out rooms and hands on workshops, is very exciting!  One of the most talked about introductions is the new Redken.com professional website. The site is chock full of just about everything a professional needs to succeed including salon resources, events, products, news, interaction and step by step education.

According to the "buzz" in the lobby of the Peabody Hotel, one of the best parts of the site is a professional tool that just about every salon owner will be able to use.  In the "grow your business" section is the EMAIL marketing tool. Registered users just click on to "My Redken Client List" to help manage the salon client email address book. Here you will add all of the names of your clients and their email addresses. One click of the mouse and you will be able to alert your clients to new services, promotions and newsletters. You will also be able to send out birthday emails, thank you notes and any thing else you think your clients need to know!

"I expect this to be one of the most used parts of the website," says Interactive Marketing Manager, Sarah Liang who works on everything website including content and site architecture. "It certainly is the most anticipated. Salon owners and stylists have been requesting this for years."

Although launching in mid February, some of us couldn't wait to play. Famed colorist and good buddy David Stanko and I muscled our way through to one of the demonstration kiosks to see it in action. It really is a winner.

In Dubai, Clients Visit the Salon Every Week. Here’s What That Market Can Teach You

In Dubai, a salon visit isn’t an appointment. It’s a weekly routine, and clients can spend $800 to $1,400 a month on it, according to Gaurav Tripathi of MADI International. On October 6-8, 2026, the market behind those numbers opens its doors as Beautyworld Dubai marks its 30th edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together distributors, brands, stylists and salon owners from all over the world.
