Wella’s Hairdressers at Heartis commemorating the legacy of globally recognized hairdresser and industry icon, Fabio Sementilli, with the Fabio #ICAN Scholarship.
The namesake scholarship, open to both U.S. and Canadian applicants, will offer three stylists the unique opportunity to advance their professional careers through mentorship and training at Wella’s TrendVision 2018 Editorial Seminar, and automatically enter the 2018 North American TrendVision Awards. To continue Fabio’s support of hairdressers and stylists at every stage of their career, Hairdressers at Heart is proud to honor a true industry leader, and celebrate his tutelage to pay it forward and never stop learning.
“Throughout his career, Fabio championed education, and was steadfast in his commitment to mentorship,” said Sally Schoen, Vice President North American Education at Coty Professional Beauty. “While the industry will forever mourn the loss of a talented friend and passionate visionary, we are proud to honor Fabio’s legacy and continue his passion for learning through the #ICAN scholarship.”
Generously funded by Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart, the Fabio #ICAN scholarship will honor the internationally renowned educator and mentor’s lifelong commitment to education and professional development. To be considered for the program, applicants are required to submit a photo that reflects their creative skills and a one-minute or less video answering a series of questions detailing their professional experience and how the scholarship would impact them personally or professionally. Winners of the Fabio #ICAN scholarship will attend Wella’s TrendVision 2018 Editorial Seminar in April 2018 at the Los Angeles or New York City Wella Studio (a $1,900 value plus $1,750 for travel expenses), and automatic entry into the North American TrendVision Awards.
“Fabio’s legacy will live on through the stylists he mentored, the colleagues he worked with, the Hairdressers at Heart organization and now the Fabio #ICAN scholarship,” said Sal Mauceri, Senior Vice President North American Coty Professional Beauty and Global OPI. “He not only played a special role in all of our lives, but he was a true inspiration to the industry, and we look forward to honoring his legacy for years to come.”
Applications must be completed via an online form – deadline for all submissions is February 9, 2018. For more information about Hairdressers at Heart or the Fabio #ICAN Scholarship, please visit: https://www.wellaed.com/fabio-ican-scholarship/.
