First job: While in beauty school, the owner needed someone to work at night in his salon. So I was in school until 4:30 p.m and then in the salon until 11. I later bought that salon. Licensed: Nita and Dave’s Beauty College, 1962

Milestones: Team trainer for the only USA team to ever win the gold medal and be named World Champions; work gracing the cover of MODERN and other magazines; sharing what I know with younger hairdressers through the Aquage Masterclass Academy;
Big break: Turning in my notice at the factory and accepting the scholarship to cosmetology school, and agreeing to postpone retirement to join Luis Alvarez and Aquage six years ago.
