As Stephen Covey says in 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,
put first things first. For salon owners and stylists, I believe that
means: Reward the customers you have every chance you can. As salon
professionals we know no matter how talented we are, if we don’t have
clients we don’t have income. They are the first and most important
element of our success.
Michelle Williams has always been consistently stylish on the red
carpet—who can forget her at the Oscars a couple years ago in that
gorgeous chartreuse gown—and her appearance at the New York premiere of
her new Martin Scorsese flick, Shutter Island, was no exception. With

Contestants had to do hair styles inspired by flowers. I thought this
was a refreshing change from the food challenge. This challenge is
relevant and will give the cast an opportunity to showcase their
talents.

The Bronner Bros. International Beauty Show is one of the largest shows
specializing in African American hair and skin care. Modern was at the
show this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, and had a blast! The show is
PACKED with education—and people!—where educators cover everything from
natural textures, weaves, cutting, make-up, color, barbering and
