Natalie Portman is on a roll. In September, her critically-acclaimed film, Black Swan, was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. Now, on the heels of the movie's official premiere in New York City, she just received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. With it comes increasing Oscar buzz. Portman's never looked better either-her stylist, John D. has made sure of that.

John says he was tempted to do an elegant updo, but in the end succumbed to the glamour of the black, off-the-shoulder Dior gown and created a mass of full-bodied, wavy hair. "The hair helped balance the total look," he said. "Especially since the bottom of the dress was so full."

Here are his tips for recreating her premiere style.

1. Start with an application of argan oil-infused Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream for soft hold and hydration.
2. Then blow dry the hair smooth using a round brush to give it volume at the root.
3. Follow with a 1" curling iron, and starting at the back of the head, curl round sections all over the head to set the volume in. In the front, curl hair back from the face.
4. Finish with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray to give extra hold that looks soft.
5. An extra tip for foul weather days: "It was raining in New York that night and I wanted to make absolutely sure the body stayed. After her hair cooled, I sprayed a paddle brush with hairspray and used it to separate and loosen the hair. This also tames the curls at the same time. I completed the look with a touch of hairspray to give it extra hold."
