Artego's Chad Siggers has mastered the art of balayage and was sharing his wealth of knowledge at the Premiere Show in Orlando, Florida. Modern stopped by to ask for a quick demonstration.

"Balayage is the perfect way to get an ombre finish," says Siggers. "Using a thick, heavy bleach, like Artego, allows the colorist to place the color and control application. It stays exactly where I place it and does not bleed through."

Siggers holds the brush flat, takes large wide sections and paints just the surface. The ends are saturated with color, both on top and under, and then the remaining color is diffused toward the top. The rounded brush allows Siggers to control application, and keeps him from placing any obvious squared off line of color placement.

Siggers offers a HOW TO do a balayage application in this 4 minute video, while dropping several tips and tricks to get a perfect ombre finish.
