HOW TO Tease Hair Properly

Sally Rogerson of Brushopolis was swarmed with stylists attending the 2013 International Salon and Spa Expo in Long Beach held this past weekend. "We all know how to tease hair," she told me, "but we don't always do it correctly. This is especially important when the client or guest has color treated or tender hair. We must all make an effort to add volume and lift without causing damage."

Sally emphasizes that sections should be elevated and that a good teasing brush be placed at mid point and scooped down to the base. "Sometimes you have to take very small sections," she says. "But the effort ultimately pays off."

In this one minute video, Sally shows how this works on a client with fine, thin and color treated hair.
