Make Up artist Kevin Mendelson is finding himself quite busy this bridal season. The jane iredale Global Educator has been training professional make up artists throughout the United States on the latest and most important innovations in products and application. Lately, Mendelson has been focusing on the importance of creating a soft focus finish for HD cameras.

"Most bridal applications will look better with a soft focus finish," he says, "especially in photographs. It is so easy to create this finish, just by using the right products, tools and proper placement." Mendelson uses the jane iredale Beyond Matte HD Powder for the finishing touch. "I love this because it has no talc and is based on Tatium Dioxide and a non reflective form of mica."

Mendelson pats a soft rounded natural bristle powder brush on the pressed powder. "It offers a shear application and makes the skin look velvety," he say. "It's much easier to build, so apply lightly. For a more opaque finish, I use a sponge."

As much as he loves make up, Mendelson knows the purpose of any powder or color is to enhance the brides beauty. "You don't want to see product," he says. "You just want to see the effect of the product. If you start with a high quality cosmetics, you will need minimal retouching and the bridal pictures will be perfect."

In this 2:39 minute video, Mendelson offers multiple tips and the perfect HOW TO create a beautiful soft focus finish.
