2018 MODERN SALON 100 artist Julius Cvesar (@juliuscaesar) has become a powerful presence in the barber and grooming communities, known for his own unique appearance as well as his signature cuts. The downtown LA based barber believes in quality over quantity and books 60 minutes appointments at his private loft space inside The Pillars Club, ALLHAIL DTLA. 

Comfortable creating any and everything from gentleman finishes to aggressive carvings, the master artist has perfected all grooming techniques. Endorsed by Go Panache, Wahl, Takara Belmont and Mizutani, among others, Cvesar thoughtfully tags his black and white photos that feature finished looks as well as stage and "in action" shots.

Most viral post: It was of me at the Takara Belmont showroom using the new Wahl 5-star cordless senior to finish up my tutorial demonstration during my new educational class: ALLHAIL|Academy - a Pop-Up workshop platform I’ve launched just this year that touches not only haircutting, but business strategies, brand building, photography, and more. By likes or comments, I don’t think it had the craziest numbers, but I feel it was successful because of the internal responses I’ve received for more education classes.

Pro tips: I believe that the best way to get strong interactions with your post is to be consistent with the message you’re trying to convey. For me, the monochromic high-contrasted imagery has been attached to my brand.

Hidden talent (beauty-related): I’ve recently learned how to do a graduated bob.

Hidden talent: I develop perfume and candles.

How social media changed my life: Social media changed my life insanely. It has been a vehicle to drive my passion and profession throughout visual imagery, connecting my story to reality, and building relationships not only in the hair industry, but with lives all around the world.

The first time I was featured on MODERN’s Insta: I don’t remember the first time I was featured on the Instagram, but I do remember I was featured in the magazine publication. It was the June 2017 issue, and it was titled “Personal Style.” It was a really cool opportunity because MODERN connected my love for hair with my passion for fashion.
