Najah Aziz
Stylist, influencer, educator and salon owner, Najah Aziz left behind a 16-year corporate career when she decided it was time to pursue her passion for hair. In 2008, she opened Like the River The Salon in Atlanta and just a year after the opening, Like the River was named the best hair salon in Atlanta by the Atlanta Tribune. She also founded Beauty Beyond the Hair, a quarterly seminar and workshop to teach stylists technical skills and business practices to advance their careers.
Aziz’s work has been featured across many industry platforms, including MODERN SALON, especially her specialty—chic, short cuts and pixies, with perfectly placed waves and curls.
As most of her clientele has naturally curly, afro-textured hair, Aziz uses care and styling products that are moisturizing and hydrating.

For this feminine, playful style, Aziz shampooed and conditioned with Designline Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner.
Designline Moisture Shampoo is a sulfate free, hydrating and gentle shampoo that helps to restore essential hydration and seal in moisture to dry and dull hair. The formula features Quinoa, Coconut, Olive and Argan Oils.
She conditioned with Designline Moisture Conditioner which detangles and leaves hair manageable and smooth, with its moisturizing formula of Quinoa, Green Tea Extract, Olive and Argan Oils.
Then, she turned up the volume. “On damp hair, I applied the Designline Expandability Volumizing Styler,” Aziz explains. “Its lightweight formula helps to create fuller and thicker looking hair. This product works best for fine to medium hair.”
Designline Expandability Volumizing Styler adds lift and helps to increase volume of hair. Amino Complex, Quinoa, Green Tea Extract and Caffeine are incorporated into the formula. To apply, emulsify, work through hair (damp or dry) and style achieve a semi matte finish.
To finish, she used a 1-inch flat iron to create full on base curls and then tousled with her fingers.
