Her color transformations and makeover miracles brought Crystal Kim @instylebycrystalk of Corona, CA to our attention in 2017 when we named her one of our MODERN SALON 100. We continue to be wow-ed by her work and always appreciate how real she is about expectation vs reality.
"I’m posting this because everyone from 100 followers to 1 million followers breaks hair!" Kim shares. "Don’t let Instagram fool you guys. I used two different bond builders and nothing over 20 volume and still she had some breakage."
On Instagram, Kim shared a photo of a tiny clump of broken hair. Her client is Asian and was not starting at a Level 7, obviously.
"All stylists know that this isn’t an easy appointment, and I would love to meet the stylist that could have done this without ANY BREAKAGE. The only reason I took this client is because she was extremely understanding and she knew the risks and she trusted me completely."
This took Kim 11 hours to complete. She toned with Schwarzkopf Professional Igora Vibrance.
