Mandi Fisher (@glam.mandi), an independent colorist at Vintage Beauty Salon, Westminster, Maryland, says she was at her former cosmetology school teaching the students how to apply tape in extensions and fantasy colors when she created this new look for her model. “It was her first time with extensions and vivid color, so I was really excited to completely transform her.”
Here Fisher shares the details for the makeover:
STEP 1: Bleach out the hair using Truss Professional Air Libre with 30 volume developer (20 volume on roots) and Brazilian Bond Builder added.
STEP 2: Process for 30 minutes, lifting to an even level 9. Shampoo with Truss Blonding Shampoo. Dry completely.
STEP 3: Using Oligo Professional Funkhue (Brazilian Bond Builder added) start with a Violet shadow root and then alternate through to the ends using Lilac, Neon Green, Bonbon and Azure Blue.
STEP 4: While processing, custom color Hairtalk USA 60a 17” extensions using the same colors applied on her hair. Process all for 30 minutes and then rinse in cool water (no shampoo). Then apply B3 Demi permanent conditioner just through her ends without touching the root to help prevent extensions from slipping after application. Dry completely.
STEP 5: Trim and layer the hair to blend. Style with a Hot Tools 1-inch curling rod and brush out to create beautiful tousled waves.
