Since opening her bridal business in 2013, Caralee Pridemore has seen her passion and success for her clients' big days take off. The artist spends most of her time on location with her special guests, but when she isn't helping her brides say I do to perfect hair, she's in her studio creating stunning tutorials and looks for her more than 16,000 Instagram followers.
In a recent tutorial, Pridemore demoed how to tackle a popular client dilema: how to get the dreamy, dimensional results seen in updos scattered throughout Pinterest and Instagram without actually altering your bride's color. To add dimension to her brunette mannequin, Pridemore reached for Moroccanoil's new Color-Depositing masks and applied both directly to the hair and onto extensions she taped in.
Pridemore used the masks in three different shades for pops of color. She applied Cocoa from the base through the midlengths, and mixed Aquamarine and Bordeaux for the midlengths through the ends. For contrast she also added blonde extensions that she colored the same way but show the shades with more vibrance.
"This is a great option to offer your updo clients," Pridemore says. "I can also see them being a great option for clients who need a temporary easy-to-use mask in between color services."
The collection of masks deposits pure pigments along with the benefits of a deep-conditioning mask. The seven temporary shades—Champagne, Platinum, Hibiscus, Aquamarine, Rose Gold, Bordeaux and Cocoa—are designed to enhance color vibrancy, refresh existing tones or allow for experimentation while helping to restore the hair.
