Every now and then Jenna Dewan likes to shake things up when it comes to her hair color. A natural brunette, the actress took to Instagram recently to show off a brand-new shade with “glazed chocolate doughnut” fall vibes.” Actress and model Kaia Gerber has also been rocking a similar shade of brunette with a high-shine finish. Call it the latest iteration of glazed doughnut hair color that began trending on social media last year—rich, glossy and as irresistible as, well, a glazed chocolate doughnut.

Want to score a few brownie points with your clients this fall? Satin Hair Color has an extensive array of deep, glossy brunette shades formulated with micro-color molecules that resist fading. Soy protein deeply nourishes each strand, while aloe vera delivers the high-shine finish you want. Think of it as the glaze on the doughnut. What’s more, less than 1% ammonia means less damage, more dye.

For a rich chocolate base with warm highlights, Satin Hair Color Mocha Brown (4MOCHA), Light Mocha Brown (5MOCHA) and Dark Mocha Blonde (6MOCHA) are your best bets. The versatile formulation also allows for permanent, demi-permanent and semi-permanent color applications. For results that last from 6 to 8 weeks, mix Satin color with Satin Hair Color’s Demi Developer. Want deposit-only color? Satin Hair Color’s Semi Processing Gel delivers optimal shine and conditioning that lasts from 4 to 6 weeks.

Satin Hair Color nourishes the strands and produces a rich, glossy finish with less damage.

Feel free to create your own formulas using the Mocha Series, but if you’re going for the “glazed chocolate doughnut vibes” that are lighting up TikTok and Instagram at the moment, we’ve got a couple of ideas.

  • For permanent color on a natural level 5 or 6, mix Satin Hair Color 4MOCHA with 10-volume Satin Demi Developer in a 1:2 mixing ratio. Process for 35 minutes. Mix ½ 6MOCHA and ½ 5G with Satin Demi Developer in a 1:2 mixing ratio. Apply to the midshaft and ends during the last 20 minutes.

  • For a demi all-over gloss that’s great for covering faded summer highlights or balayage, mix 1/2 5MOCHA with Satin Demi Developer in a 1:2 mixing ratio. Apply to the hair and process for 20 minutes.
