For this bright and shiny blonde, Bruce did a mixture of foils and balayage and then melted the root. The tonal variation is so dimensional, stunning is an understatement.

Matrix SoColor Sync Pre-Bonded 6N with 10 vol, melted into ¼ 8v, ¾ 10v with 10 vol
Bruce achieved this look by lightly balayaging the client’s ends after a root retouch to cover some stubborn grey. “When doing a color melt, apply color to DAMP hair,” she advises. “Think of a hair as a sponge: a soaking wet sponge isn’t going to absorb anything, and a dry sponge doesn’t absorb very well either, but a wrung out damp sponge absorbs very well!”
