"This regular bleach and tone client wanted something low maintenance. See that before shot? That is what she got," says Rebecca Vejar (@itsalwaysbecks), a balayage and color correction specialist who says smokey ash tones are her most requested. Vejar shares the details for this correction: Step 1: Break up the inconsistent spots, lines and bands with "a TON" of  babylights using Redken Blonde Dimensions (starting with 15 volume in the back working to 25 volume in the front) being careful not to overlap. Add a few back to back foils in the front to frame the face. Step 2: In between each foil apply Redken Shades EQ equal parts 6NB, 5N - with a splash of 6T.  Drag down through bands in between each foil melting and covering up those blonde spots. Process to desired lift. Rinse. Step 3: Shadow root with Shades EQ equal parts 5N and 6T. Step 4: Tone ends with Shades EQ equal parts 9P and 9T, and about 2 grams of E-1 from Schwarzkopf E-1 ("It's great for smoking out blondes.")
